
Paul Byrd to Rehab with Greenville

Atlanta Braves pitcher PAUL BYRD will join the Greenville Braves on a minor league injury rehabilitation assignment on Saturday night. Byrd, who has been on the major league disabled list retroactive to March 21st with a strained right elbow, will be the G-Braves starting pitcher for Saturday's 7:15pm game vs. the Birmingham Barons at Municipal Stadium.
Byrd was signed by Atlanta this past December as a free-agent after going 17-11 with a 3.90 ERA in 33 starts for Kansas City in 2002. The righthander has spent portions of eight season in the major leagues with the Mets, Braves, Phillies and Royls.
It is not known at this time as to how long Byrd will rehab with Greenville.
