
Patterson and Edwards Re-Sign with FireAnts

TUPELO, MS--Tupelo FireAnts professional indoor football team is pleased to announce the re-signing of cornerback Tyson Patterson and wide receiver/running back Chris Edwards to the 2004 lineup.
Both Patterson and Edwards joined the FireAnts during the latter half of the 2003 season.
Tyson Patterson, a 5-foot-9, 150-pound Mobile, Alabama native, attended Delta State University. In four games played with the âAnts last season, he totaled 11 tackles and two interceptions.
Hailing from Opelousas, Louisiana, Chris Edwards attended Lambuth University. The 5-foot-9, 200-pound wide receiver/running back played six games with the FireAnts in 2003, hauling in 12 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns.
"Tyson gives us a lock down corner. It is hard to find players like him," FireAnts Head Coach Bobby Hall said. "Chris is one of the more versatile athletes on our team. He can play several positions on both sides of the ball. Both of these guys will be assets to our team."
With the addition of Patterson and Edwards, the FireAnts have now signed 22 players to date, including: Joe Gunn, Pig Prather, Patrick Garth, Rico McDonald, Bobby Hill, Chris Rainey, Eric Bingham, Will Hall, Darryl Carter, Reggie Smith, David Mooneyham, Johnny Mickell, Carnell Houston, James Bridges, William Stewart, J.T. Brown, Ricky Franklin, Murry Rhodes, Kareem Vance, and Antonio Peoples.
