The Amsterdam Mohawks (23-11) beat the Saugerties Stallions (11-21) 11-6 on Thursday at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field behind Nick Patten (University of Delaware), who collected three hits. He singled in the second and seventh innings and homered in the eighth inning.
Brian Dempsey (Boston College) did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Saugerties Stallions, reaching base four times. He singled in the first inning.
Austin Keen (University of Kentucky) improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He allowed three runs over four innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered seven hits.
Nate Popiel (Dominican College) couldn't get it done on the bump for the Saugerties Stallions, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
