Albany Patroons News Release
Albany, NY - May 2, 2007 - The USBL's Albany Patroons have added strength to the team before kicking-off their three-game homestand on Thursday evening. The teams added strength includes former Patroon, Eric Williams, a 6'10" center and 6'9" forward Deng Gai. Williams returns to the Patroons, adding his size, strength and free-throw ability to the roster. Gai, a former 76er, three-time MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and eighth on the NCAA's All-Time Blocked Shots list will make him a force underneath the basket.
Antoine Jordan provides permiter scoring for the Patroons as he is currently ranked in USBL's Statistical Leaders under Leading Scoring Average (17.5 ppg) and 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (0.545). Other Patroons ranked under USBL Statistical Leaders are Shawn Hawkins in Steals per game and Lewis Fadipe with Blocked Shots per game.
The addition of Williams and Gai, the continued effort of the Stat leaders and local star Craig Forth make for a roster that is potentially as successful as the CBA's 2007 Albany Patroons. The Patroons three-game homestand begins tomorrow night, May 3rd at 7:35 PM against the Brooklyn Kings. The Patroons will then face former Patroon, Jamario Moon, when they play the Gary Steelheads Friday, May 4th and Saturday, Mary 5th, both games with a tip-off time of 7:35 PM.
