Albany, NY (October 22 , 2007) - The Albany Patroons are pleased to announce the signing of their number six 2007 CBA College Draft pick, Haron Hargrave. Haron is a 6-0, guard, and 2007 graduate of Sacramento State. Despite playing only two season at Sacramento, Haron holds several of Sacramento's program records, including two as a career leader.
His accomplisments at Sacramento during the 2005-6 season include finishing fifth in the Big Sky free throws (80.4%), finishing ninth in the Hornets single season free throw history (82), and finishing 12th in the Big Sky conference for steals per game. During his senior year (2006-7), Haron led the team in points per game (13.8), free throws (119), free throws attempted (145) and free throw percentage (.821). He was ranked fifth in the conference for free throws made and fourth in the conference with 1.8 steals per game. Haron also led the Hornets in scoring with a team-best 10 times, which included five 20-point games and two 30-point games.
He achieved the second highest mark in the program's single-game history with eight steals at Illinois State. Haron was ranked several times as a Big Sky leader including third in free throw percentage, fourth in steals, ninth in three-pointers (1.9 per game), 11th in scoring and 12th in minutes.
Among Sacramento State's career leaders, he ranks fifth in free throws made (201) and seventh in free throws attempted (247). Prior to playing at Sacramento State, Haron starred as a sophmore at Chaffey Junior College (Calif.) where he was named first team all-Foothill Conference. He began his college career as a stand-out at Sullivan County Community College (NY) where he was named first team all-region and first team all-conference .
