
Patroons Sign LeShawn Hammett

Albany, NY (October 31, 2007) - The Albany Patroons most recent signee is LeShawn Hammett.
LeShawn is a 6'0", Guard who brings to the roster a background of scoring leadership awards. He starred in two seasons at Luzerne County JC (NJCAA), where he earned NJCAA Easter Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Player of the Year, EPCC 1st Team All Conference, PCAA First Team All State Selection, PCAA Most Outstanding Player, EPCC First Team All Conference and EPCC Conference Player of the Year.
These awards were achieved with an average of 24.6 ppg., 3.85 apg., and 3.15 rpg. LeShawn was also the EPCC Scoring Leader in 2004 with 25.6 ppg., and again in 2005 with 23.6 ppg. He is also Luzerne County JC's All-Time Leading Scorer with 1,212 points.
"LeShawn is a tremendous scorer with a great desire to win," stated St. Francis Head Coach, Bobby Jones.
LeShawn signed a national letter of intent and continued his career at Saint Francis University.
His next move was with the ABA's South Alabama Bounce, where he played during the regular season and played in the Post Season Tour in Tokyo, Japan. While with South Alabama he averaged 17.74 ppg., 7.4 apg., and 3.6 rpg. Prior to signing with the Patroons, LeShawn played in the D-League Pre-Draft Camp in Arlington, Texas.
