Patroons Sign Hawkins and Bowers

November 7, 2007 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) - Albany Patroons News Release

Albany, NY - November 7, 2007 - The Patroons most recent signings include the addition of Shawn Hawkins and Will Bowers. Shawn, a 6'6" Forward, graduated from Long Beach State in 2006, earning All-Big West Second Team by averaging 12.5 ppg. as a senior. Hawkins went on to play briefly in the Austrian First Division and then played in a prestigious Southern California Summer Pro League. Shawn next played with the CBA's 2006-07 Pittsburgh Xplosion before joining the USBL's Albany Patroons. While with the USBL's Albany Patroons, Hawkins led the league in Free Throw Percentage with 0.964 percent.

Will Bowers, a 7'1" Center, recently graduated from the University of Maryland. While Will was at Maryland, the Terrapins were the 2004 ACC Tournament Champions and appeared in the 2005 NIT Semifinals. Prior to signing with the Patroons, Bowers played in the Iranian Super league.

The Patroons made room on the training camp roster for Hawkins and Bowers by releasing G Drew Skeeter, G Haron Hargrave, C Tony Key, F Michael Parker, and G Damian Hubbard.
