Albany, NY (October 3, 2007) - The Albany Patroons have added three players to their 2007- 2008 roster. The Patroons welcome Byron Mouton, Damien Hubbard, and Herbert Jones.
Byron Mouton is a 6'6", Guard/Forward and 2002 graduate of Maryland University. Mouton began his college career at Tulane, where he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team as he led Tulane in scoring with 15.3 ppg. As a sophmore he was named Honorable Mention All-ACC. He then transferred to Maryland, where he helped the Terrapins reach the NCAA Final Four in his junior and senior year. Mouton was a starter on the 2002 National Championship Team. Since he started for Maryland during its 2002 title run, Mouton has played for 13 professional teams in nine leagues. Mouton has played in the CBA (Idaho Stampede), Germany, France, Dominican Republic, China, the NBA-DL and the ABA. Prior to signing with the Patroons, Byron Mouton played with the Wilmington Sea Dawgs of the PBL.
Damien Hubbard is a 6'6", Forward and 2006 graduate of Liberty University. Hubbard began his college career at Frederick Community College where he earned first team All-Marlyand JUCO Athletic Confrence, All-Tournament in the Dunkin Donuts Tip-Off Tournament and the Maryland JUCO Men's Basketball Championship. He was then awarded a full scholarship to play basketball at Liberty University where he started every game and led the team with 5.6 rpg.
Herbert Jones is a 6'7", Forward and 2006 graduate of Appalachian State University. Prior to joining the Patroons, Jones played for the Richmond Ballerz of the ABA from October 2006 to April 2007. Jones is a highly recommended player by several scouts.
