Fayetteville, NC. July 12 - The Fayetteville Patriots will open its 2005-06 season in the National Basketball Development League on Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. when they host Fort Worth at the Crown Coliseum to tip off the Patriots 5th season.
The Patriots organization and the community of Fayetteville, North Carolina was also honored by being selected to host the NBA/NBDL Showcase which will host all eight D-League teams to play eight games over two days on Sunday and Monday, (Martin Luther King Holiday weekend) January 15-16th in Fayetteville.
"Every team in the D-league, along with scouts and GM's from every NBA team, will converge on Fayetteville for four games on Sunday and four more on Monday." Said Todd DeMoss, Patriots Team President. "This is the biggest event of the year for the D-league, which involves scouts from all the NBA teams and all the players in one place at one time."
The Patriots 2005-2006 season features a 48 game regular season schedule. This includes 23 Home games as well as the 2 NBA/NBDL Showcase games for the Patriots all at the Crown Coliseum.
"This will be a very exciting season for the Patriots, from our record setting crowds, new expansion teams, and the NBA Showcase...This will be a season that fans can not miss out on." Said DeMoss. "Our theme nights have become very popular, games like Military Night (Jan 21), Lumbee River EMC Kids Night (Feb 25), and Harley Night (Mar. 31) will be even bigger and better than last season"
