Regina Pats News Release
The Week That Was
Wednesday, January 9th - Pats 4 @ Prince Albert 9
It was a brilliant start for the Pats as they jumped to a 2-0 then 3-1 lead, but the Raiders offence took over from there outscoring the Pats 8-1 after that point. Trailing 5-4 heading into the third period, the Pats couldn't find the tying goal and the Raiders scored four times in the final frame.
Friday, January 11th - Pats 1 @ Calgary 6
Brooks Macek scored 13 seconds into the game and the Hitmen left the first period with a 3-0 lead. The Pats fought back in the second, getting on the board courtesy of Morgan Klimchuk's 23rd goal of the season, but Calgary would pull away. Jake Virtanen scored late in the second and early in the third to put it away and the Hitmen cruised to a 6-1 win.
Saturday, January 12th - Pats 1 @ Wheat Kings 2
After a pair of losses the Pats looked to get back in the win column against an injury depleted Wheat Kings team. Brandon came out as a team with something to prove and took advantage of a powerplay and shorthanded opportunity in the second period to own a 2-0 lead. Carson Samoridny replied with his first goal as a Pat to cut the lead in half, but the Blue and White wouldn't be able to even up the game in the third period, falling 2-1.
Roster Moves
Pats acquire F Carson Samoridny and 2013 4th Rd Bantam Pick from Calgary in return for Colten Mayor
Pats reassign F Adam Rossignol to Coquitlam Express (BCHL)
Pats reassign F Filip Vasko to Slovakia
Quote of the Week
"We set what we were looking for early. All the teams knew if we were going to move an overage or a 19-year-old what the parameters to a deal had to be. If you look back early, the Saskatoon deal, the price they paid for Burns, the Edmonton-Vancouver deal and what they paid for Musil, we value our players in that same mix. In order for us to move one of those guys those were the parameters we set. Everybody knew those parameters. Based on the lack of moves today, buyers weren't willing to pay and sellers were committed to sticking with what they set as parameters."

The Week Ahead
Friday, January 18th - Kootenay @ Pats
There are few teams in the WHL hotter than Kootenay. The Ice have rocketed out of the cellar in the Eastern Conference and back into contention for a playoff spot. Top 2014 Draft Prospect, Sam Reinhart leads the way 43 points in 43 games for the Ice who visit Regina twice in just over a week.
Saturday, January 19th - Swift Current @ Pats
It's a key matchup for the Pats as they battle for a spot in the playoffs. Swift Current holds down the sixth spot in the conference. Winnipeg Jets prospect Adam Lowry is on the best run of any player in the league this season with a 20 game point streak.
Knight Archer Bobblehead Night
