PORT CHARLOTTE -- Steve Hirschfeld held the Charlotte Stone Crabs scoreless for seven innings and Chris Parmelee hit his fourth homer of the season at Charlotte Sports Park to help the Fort Myers Miracle to a 7-1 win on Friday night.

The Miracle, after seeing an early 2-0 lead evaporate in Thursday's 5-3 loss, built a 7-0 advantage before the bottom of the fifth inning. Ben Revere scored on a wild pitch in the first inning, and Evan Bigley singled to drive in a run in the third. With two runners on, two outs, and a 3-2 count, Chris Parmelee crushed a fastball into the right-field Charlotte bullpen to put Fort Myers up 5-0.

Mark Dolenc, in his first start since August 9, drove in two with a double in the fifth. Dolenc, who had been sidelined with a recurring injury to his wrist, kept a 12-game hitting streak intact with a 2- for-4 day at the plate.

Jeremy Hall (13-7) surrendered seven earned runs in four and one-third innings. He gave up six hits, walked four, and struck out four. Reliever Jose Mejias kept the Miracle scoreless in his four and one- third innings of work, with one strikeout and three hits.

As for the visitors, Steve Hirschfeld (7-5) continued an excellent season with seven more innings of dominance. The Utahn went seven with just five hits, two walks, and five strikeouts in keeping the Stone Crabs scoreless. Bobby Lanigan worked a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts, and Mike Allen gave up a run in the ninth on one hit.

Chris Cates went 3-for-4 at the bottom of the lineup. Parmelee finished 1-for-4 with two runs scored and his sixteenth home run, breaking a tie to reclaim the league lead. St. Lucie teammates Carlos Guzman, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, and Brahiam Maldonado are all tied for second with 15 homers each.

Fort Myers extended its lead in the Florida State League South Division to two games over second-place Charlotte.

Mike Tarsi and Brian Flores are the probable starters for Saturday's 7:00 p.m. matchup at Charlotte Sports Park.
