Crystal Palace Baltimore News Release

Baltimore, MD - Crystal Palace Baltimore is pleased to announce their 2009 USL2 regular season schedule. Palace's season will kick off at home on Friday April 17th at 7:30pm versus the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, a repeat of last season's opening fixture. The final regular season home match is set for Saturday, July 25th against the Charlotte Eagles at 7:00pm, while the final fixture of the regular season is on the road at Pittsburgh on Saturday August 15th at 7:05pm. All of Palace Baltimore's home matches will take place for the second consecutive year at UMBC Stadium in Catonsville.

"We're happy for the fans that this year, every regular season home match will be played on a Friday or Saturday night." remarked Pete Medd, Crystal Palace Baltimore's President and Co-Manager.

2008 was a breakthrough year for Palace as they shocked eventual MLS Championship Finalists, the New York Red Bulls, in the 3rd round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Baltimore side were squeezed out of the 100-year old knock-out competition in the Quarter-finals by reigning US Open Cup champions, the New England Revolution, in a penalty shoot-out. After a dream 5-0 start to the 2008 league season, Palace finished in fourth place to qualify for the USL2 playoffs. They were eventually knocked out in the semi-finals by the Charlotte Eagles.

Three additional exhibition matches have been arranged in the build-up to the start of the regular season. On consecutive Fridays in late March and early April, Palace will welcome Seattle Wolves FC of the PDL (Premier Development League), the Rochester Rhinos of USL1 and local rival Real Maryland to UMBC Stadium.

Tickets for all matches are now available on the club's website - www.crystalpalaceusa.com - or by telephone at 410.933.TEAM(8326). All games are General Admission. Individual tickets for all regular season games and the NY Red Bulls pre-season exhibition game are priced at $16. The price is discounted to $14 for groups of 10 or more. Individual tickets for the other three pre-season exhibition games are priced at $10. Children 4 years old and under are admitted free to all games. Season tickets, which include all four exhibition games, as well as home League playoff games, home US Open Cup games and a visit from Crystal Palace UK, are also available for $125.
