Palace Baltimore Return To Lusitano To Face Western Mass
June 4, 2009 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Crystal Palace Baltimore News Release
Baltimore, MD - Crystal Palace Baltimore make the trip north to Ludlow, Massachusetts, once again to face the Western Mass Pioneers on Friday June 5th, 2009 at Lusitano Stadium. The game kicks off at 7:30pm.
This will mark the third meeting of the teams in the past three weeks. Palace were in Ludlow just ten days ago when each side came away with a point after an entertaining but scoreless encounter. Baltimore defeated the Pioneers 1-0 in the contest at UMBC Stadium on May 15 courtesy of a lone Matthew Mbuta goal. That win was Palace's most recent, having lost two and drawn two of their last four matches. Palace still sit in third place in the USL2 standings but have played three games more than each of the other teams in the league. The Pioneers are bottom of the table with only one win so far this season.
Palace started the season out well, but have faltered during a hectic May schedule and will hope to turn things around as the second half of their season begins tomorrow. "We really need to win, that's all there is to it - we really need the three points," stated Palace Baltimore Co-Manager Pete Medd.
John Nusum, Wale Adelusimi and Alex Ughiovhe will not travel with the team due to injuries. Midfielder Bryan Harkin is expected to get his first start of the season while striker Larry Mark will be looking to grab his first playing time of the campaign, most likely from the bench.
Palace's next match is the US Open Cup first round clash with the Ocean City Barons in New Jersey on Tuesday. Baltimore then faces the Wilmington Hammerheads at UMBC Stadium on June 13 at 7:00pm - tickets are still available online at http://www.crystalpalaceusa.com or by calling (410) 933-TEAM.
