Charlotte Eagles News Release

The Charlotte Lady Eagles return to USL W-League action this Saturday, June 6 at Charlotte Christian School (7301 Sardis Road). The Lady Eagles host the Tampa Bay Hellenic with the kickoff slated to start at 5:30 pm. Tampa Bay is currently in second place in the W-League Atlantic Division with 7 points (2-1-1). The Lady Eagles enter the match in fifth place with 4 points (1-2-1). Lady Eagles General Manager commented, "Tampa has a strong team that really plays well together. The match last week in Tampa was very exciting and challenging right to the last whistle and we expect that this weekend's match will be more of the same. As a team, Tampa has really strong goalkeeping, a solid defense and a number of very exciting attacking players, all of which makes them a formidable opponent. We are looking forward to playing a home match for the first time in almost a month, since the home opener against Hampton Roads. It has been a long month of playing on the road, and the team is very excited about playing at home in front of our great fans."

In the nightcap, the Eagles will host the Bermuda Hogges at 8 pm. Bermuda currently is tied for the fifth and final playoff spot with 10 points (3-3-1). The Eagles currently are tied for seventh place with 8 points (2-3-2). The Eagles will try to build on last week's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh which saw Amaury Nunes score two goals in his professional debut.
