Saint Louis FC News Release
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis FC boasted a pair of players on the USL Team of the Week for the first week of April, as goalkeeper Mark Pais and forward Jermie Lynch were both selected following standout performances at Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Thursday.
"Mark and Jermie are both very deserving of this honor," Head Coach Dale Schilly said. "They both played important roles in us coming away with the victory in Tulsa last week."
Against the Roughnecks, Pais made five saves en route to his first career clean sheet for STL FC. He denied Tulsa on several occassions late in the match, preserving the 2-0 win for the visitors.
On the other end, Lynch scored the first goal in club history and provided an assist on Saint Louis FC's second goal. Late in the first half, Lynch put STL FC on the board after pouncing on a loose ball from close range. In the second half, he provided the assist on Bryan Gaul's goal to double the STL FC advantage.
Pais and Lynch are the first players from Saint Louis FC to be honored on the USL Team of the Week.
Saint Louis FC will be back in action this Saturday, when the club hosts its home opener against Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Soccer Park.
