
Padres tryout camp date moved to June 28th

Mobile, Ala. â The San Diego Padres have re-scheduled their Free Agent Tryout to Saturday, June 28th, at 10:00 a.m. The tryout will be held at Hank Aaron Stadium. In case of rain, the tryout will be rescheduled for Sunday, June 29th. Registration will begin at 9:00 Saturday morning at The Hank.
All interested players ages 16 and older with no professional experience are invited to attend. The Padres will supply the baseballs and helmets only. Players must supply all other playing equipment, including wooden bats. No aluminum bats will be allowed for use.
American Legion players are required to bring a letter of permission form their coach or the commander of the Legion post they represent. Players, high school or college, enrolled in summer classes need no permission slips.
Any player signed to a professional contract at the camp will become a member of the San Diego Padres organization and will be assigned to one of the Padres' minor league affiliates.
