P-Rays plan plenty of fun for fans

Can you believe it!! The 2005 Appalachian League professional baseball season is only two weeks away!!

The Princeton Devil Rays take great pride in providing you with a numerous array of promotions and giveaways at each of our 34 home games. Attached is a list of our nightly promotions so that you can plan now for a nine-inning vacation 34 times this summer at Princeton's Hunnicutt Field. Don't forget that we offer ticket packages that will enable you to see regular season home games for as little as $1.67 per ticket!

We hope you will join us for "Chapter One," on Opening Night, June 21 versus the Burlington Indians. Gates always open one hour prior to game time.

JUNE 2005

21: OPENING NIGHT: A. FIRST COMMUNITY BANK CHEERSTIX NIGHT: The first 200 fans will receive a FREE pair of P-Rays "cheerstix." Also all Little Leaguers, youth baseball players, and girls' softball players wearing their jersey top will be admitted FREE courtesy of First Community Bank. B. LITTLE CAESAR'S MAGNET SCHEDULE NIGHT: The first 700 fans will receive a FREE 2005 P-Rays full process color magnet schedule.

22: OMELET SHOPPE NIGHT: Prizes to be given away throughout the game courtesy of Princeton's Omelet Shoppe.

23: KROGER GLOBAL LOGO BASEBALL NIGHT: The first 500 fans will receive a FREE P-Rays global logo baseball. This will be Kroger's sixth straight year doing this promotion and sixth different baseball design. Add the 2005 version to your collection! BONUS FOR LITTLE LEAGUERS: All Little Leaguers, youth baseball players, and girls' softball players wearing their jersey tops will be admitted FREE courtesy of Princeton Elks Lodge #1459.

JULY 2005

1: LINDSEY OPTICAL SEAT CUSHION NIGHT: The first 500 fans will receive a FREE P-Rays seat cushion.

2: SALVATION ARMY NIGHT: All fans that bring a donation of two canned food goods will be admitted ABSOLUTELY FREE! ALSO, IT'S CHICK FIL-A NIGHT: The first 1,000 fans will receive a coupon good for a FREE Chick Fil-A sandwich. TRIPLE BONUS: In addition, fans will be awarded prizes throughout the game from Advance Auto Parts of Princeton.

3. FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PETERSTOWN DAY: We welcome aboard all of our fellow baseball fans from Monroe County on this day, who will be here courtesy of the First National Bank of Peterstown. ALSO, IT'S FOUNTAIN SPRINGS DAY: This will make it a total Monroe County Day as their local golf course joins us for their ninth straight season of giving away golf passes and other golf-related prizes. In addition, please join us in welcoming members of the Summers County Chamber of Commerce to this game!

12: CHRISTIAN BASEBALL NIGHT: Any fan presenting a church bulletin will be admitted FOR ONLY ONE DOLLAR!

13: WEST VIRGINIA CHILDREN'S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (CHIP) NIGHT: Learn more about this important state agency and be ready for prize drawings throughout the game. Be on the lookout on this night for their mascot, "Chippy the Chipmunk."

14: FIRST CENTURY BANK STADIUM REPLICA NIGHT: The first 500 fans will receive an authentic replica model of Hunnicutt Field!

18: RAZE/NSTEP T-SHIRT NIGHT: The first 400 fans through the gate will receive a FREE P-Rays T-shirt. BONUS FOR LITTLE LEAGUERS ONCE AGAIN: All Little Leaguers, youth baseball players, and girls' softball players wearing their jersey top will be ADMITTED FREE!

19: PRINCETON-MERCER COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NIGHT: Join us in welcoming aboard the business leaders of our community for this game.

20: TAMPA BAY DEVIL RAY "GOODIE NIGHT": Be among the first 500 fans on this night to receive a FREE Tampa Bay Devil Rays' collectible that will carry a very special meaning for followers of the Princeton Devil Rays!

21: PHOENIX SPORTS NIGHT: As always, Phoenix Sports will have a P-Rays' logo item on hand for some lucky fans on this night.

22: U.S. CELLULAR "HEROES NIGHT:" All law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS workers, and members of the armed services in identifying outerwear will be ADMITTED FREE courtesy of U.S. Cellular.

29: SCOUT NIGHT: All scouts in uniform will be admitted FREE to the July 29 game.

AUGUST 2005

3: NASCAR NIGHT: There will be many Nascar collectibles given away including (courtesy of Pepsi) life-size cardboard cutouts of Jeff Gordon each inning

4: PART TWO (OF FOUR) OF THE CHARACTER COUNTS! MINI-POSTER SERIES: The first 500 fans will receive a FREE full-color 5" x 7" mini-poster of one of your favorite 2005 P-Rays players courtesy of this Mercer County Schools program. Be sure to collect all four! ALSO, IT'S ECCENTRIC FISH NIGHT: Help us in welcoming this first-time sponsor as they will be awarding prizes for dinners throughout the game.

5: MCNB BANKS, THE SHOPPES AT WILLOW CROSSING, AND STAR 95 PRESENTS "THE MAYBERRY DEPUTY": "Big Barn" and his silver bullet are back in town again as the Mayberry Deputy will be at the August 5 game. 14: EL MARIACHI MEXICAN FIESTA DAY: There will be drawings for great food prizes and more from this great supporter of P-Rays baseball, who is doing this promotion for the sixth straight year!

22: CONCORD UNIVERSITY "MAROON" NIGHT: The fans attending on this night are encouraged to wear maroon as the Mountain Lions join us while gearing up for another school year and their 2005 football opener which will be just days away!

23: BLUEFIELD COLLEGE NIGHT: The Rams of Bluefield College will be awarding surprises to the first 100 fans and there will be drawings for great Bluefield College prizes throughout the August 23 game.

IT'S ALSO "TOYS FOR TOTS" NIGHT: Any fan donating a toy at the gate on this night to help brighten a child's Christmas for 2005 will be admitted at half price. 26: WENDY'S PRESENTS "BATTLE OF THE CATS DAY" (Special Friday 4:00 p.m. game time): We welcome the students of both Princeton and PikeView high schools who will be attending this game prior to the Princeton Tigers-PikeView Panthers football game next door at Hunnicutt Stadium on this date at 7:30 p.m. Thanks to Wendy's for giving the first 250 students from each school attending our afternoon baseball game a t-shirt to commemorate the renewal of this football rivalry. All students from Princeton and Pikeview high schools will be admitted FREE to this 4:00 p.m. P-Rays game!

27: TROPHIES AND MORE "MOST POPULAR PLAYER" AWARD: This trophy will be awarded to the "most popular" P-Rays player for 2005 prior to the August 27 game and is sponsored by Trophies and More of Princeton. The winner is determined as a result of season-long fan voting by using official ballots, which are available in all P-Rays' 2005 yearbook/programs.
