P-Bruins Fall to Monarchs 3-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 3-1 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Jeremy Reich. The P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday versus the Toronto Marlies at 7:05 p.m. for a Family Game.

In the opening period, the Monarchs scored the lone goal at the 11:38 mark. David Meckler tallied his seventh goal of the season, while Eric Werner and Trevor Lewis picked up the assists. Manchester had a 1-0 lead after the first period.

After a scoreless second period, Manchester took a 2-0 advantage with a 5-on-3 power play goal, their second in as many nights, at the 6:09 mark of the third period. Lewis netted his eighth goal of the season, with Viatcheslav Voynov and Marty Murray getting the assists. The P-Bruins pulled within a goal at the 13:03 mark. Byron Bitz tossed the puck in front of the net for Reich and he scored his seventh goal of the season. Manchester finished off the scoring with an empty net goal at the 19:36 mark from Scott Parse, his third goal of the season. Vladimir Dravecky grabbed the assist as Manchester went onto the 3-1 victory.

Tuukka Rask stopped 17 of 19 shots he faced for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Quick made 32 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-6 on the power play and 4-for-6 on the penalty kill.
