Old Orchard Beach News Release
Chicago, Illinois - On Friday May 18, Salvi Sports Enterprises, LCC announced that Patrick Salvi has become a partner in one of the premier summer collegiate baseball franchises, the Martha's Vineyard Sharks. Located in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, Salvi joins other franchise owners, including well known Hollywood actor Bill Murray, Sharks President Hannah Schley, and Van Schley, one of the founding members of modern independent baseball, as the Sharks enter their second year of play within the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England (FCBL).
After its 2011 inaugural season, the FCBL quickly became known as one of the most talented and competitive summer leagues in the country. Comprised of elite collegiate athletes from schools including University of Florida, Baylor University, San Diego State University and University of Massachusetts Amherst, each FCBL team has an action-packed 54 game schedule (27 home & 27 away games) within a nine week period concluding August 9th. Each year top players from the league are scouted and selected for the MLB Draft.
A prominent Chicago trial attorney, Salvi entered the world of minor league baseball in 2008 with the purchase of the Gary SouthShore Railcats, a member of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball located in Northwest Indiana. Salvi Sports Enterprises has since expanded to include the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League and the North Shore Navigators in Lynn, Massachusetts, also a member of the FCBL.
