
Owens IFL Offensive Player of the Week

WORCESTER, MA - Massachusetts Pirates wide receiver Thomas Owens has been named the Indoor Football Leagues' Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 12 performance in a 43-38 victory over the Bismarck Bucks at Phoenix Field at the DCU Center. Owens was the games' leading receiver as he had eight receptions for 147 yards and three touchdowns.
Owens continues to be the top receiver in the IFL, leading the league with 46 receptions and 668 receiving yards. He also ranks first in the league averaging 74.2 receiving yards per game. The former Florida International star is currently second in the IFL with 15 touchdown receptions, ranks third with 5.11 receptions per game and is tied for fifth averaging 14.5 yards per catch.
This marks the second time this season that Owens has been named Offensive Player of the Week. He earned the award in week three when he had eight receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown in a 36-18 win over the Bucks on May 8.
Owens and the Massachusetts Pirates will be in action this Sunday at Phoenix Field at the DCU Center when they take on the Arizona Rattlers at 1:05 PM (EST).
