SIX GAME SWEEP OF JETS

The North Iowa Outlaws completed the Six Game Sweep this past weekend with two more wins of the Fargo Moorhead Jets. In the process, the Outlaws set a Franchise Record with seven consecutive wins, knocking off the old mark of six set earlier this season.

Meeting for the fifth straight time, the North Iowa Outlaws and the Fargo-Moorhead Jets are familiar with each other and the way they play, and for the Outlaws, they are familiar with putting the puck in the back of the net and winning hockey games as they knocked off the Jets 6-3 in front of a pack North Iowa Ice Arena. Over 1,000 fans watch North Iowa come away with a three goal flurry in the first period, watch the Jets control the second period, but saw North Iowa rally back with three goals in the third to keep the Jets wondering weather they can tame the Outlaws this season. With North Iowa celebrating "Homecoming" after a month away from the friendly confines for the North Iowa Ice Arena, the Outlaws looked sharp on the ice. Sporting Tuxedo jerseys, the Outlaws jumped out to a 3 goal lead in the first with Bryant Skarda and Trevor Doden scoring two minutes apart late in the period, followed by a power play goal from Joe Harcharik a few minutes later. The second period was all Fargo, as the Jets controlled most of the play, scoring twice to pull within two, but that wasn't enough to slow down the high powered offense from North Iowa. Jack Paul added a goal in the third, which turned out to be the game winner. After the Jets struck back, Tyler Jundt tickled the twine unassisted to give the Outlaws so insurance, and the scoring was finish by Skarda, picking up his second on the night.

Robby Moss made some big saves in the opening period which kept the game close, stopping 47 of 50 shots from the Jets. North Iowa's power play went 1 for 3 on the night, as the Outlaws improved to 5-0 against Fargo this season.

The North Iowa Outlaws set a franchise record Saturday night, winning their 7th consecutive game, a new franchise high. The Outlaws, winners of six in a row earlier this season, knocked off the Fargo Moorhead Jets 3-1, completing a six game series sweep of the Jets, and remain perfect at the friendly confines of the North Iowa Ice Arena. Saturday night was a lot like Friday, where the Outlaws and Jets played a tight game which came down to the end. North Iowa jumped on the scoreboard first when Matt Morin scored on the power play, with Reed Rushing and Tyler Romasco adding the assist. In the second, the Jets scored to tie the game, setting the stage for another exciting third period.

In the final frame, the teams exchanged chances for 17:00 minutes until the Outlaws Alex Carlson drove into the Fargo zone. Off the wall, Carlson fed Harcharik whose shot rebounded right to Ross Ring-Jarvi who put the Outlaws up for good. With :21 seconds remaining, Shea Walters added insurance with a goal that set off a wild celebration at the North Iowa Ice Arena.

The Outlaws offense was backed again by another solid effort from Robby Moss in between the pipes. Moss stopped 31 of 32 to pick up his 14th win of the season. North Iowa remains perfect at home, winning seven in a row, six in a row against Fargo. North Iowa opens a three game set with the Southern Minnesota Express next weekend with round one of the border battle opening in Owatonna on Friday night.
