Chico Outlaws News Release
CHICO, CALIF - Exciting professional baseball action is just part of what's in store for Chico Outlaws fans attending Nettleton Stadium this summer. The Outlaws have released its 2007 promotional schedule, and as in past years, it offers fans plenty of "bang for the buck" - home dates will feature fireworks, special entertainment, money-saving theme nights, giveaways, a big tribute night to the Chico Heat and a three-day Fan Appreciation weekend to cap off the season.
Chico begins the 2007 season Thursday, June 7 with a three-game series against defending Golden Baseball League champion Reno Silver Sox, with the two teams shifting to Nettleton Stadium for the Outlaws home opener Sunday, June 10. A special cap giveaway (sponsored by Guy Rents) and an Air Force flyover will highlight the evening's festivities.
The Outlaws have three fireworks nights scheduled: Friday, June 15 (presented by Feather Falls Casino), Friday, June 29 (sponsored by Enloe Medical Center) and the always popular Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 4 (presented by Tri Counties Bank). The Outlaws hope to add a fourth fireworks night in August. The always entertaining San Diego Chicken makes his first-ever appearance in Chico when he invades Nettleton Stadium Thursday, July 12. A special event sure to be a hit with the youngsters is the big birthday bash for Outlaws mascot Rascal the Raccoon, slated for Tuesday, August 7.
On Saturday, August 11, the Outlaws will pay homage to Chico's baseball past with "Remember the Heat Night." A vast array of Heat players - plus the beloved Heater the Dragon - will appear in person, and the evening will be highlighted by a huge pre-game ceremony, several giveaway items including a replica jersey t-shirt (sponsored by Triple J Screen Printing) and autograph session. The Outlaws players will be sporting Heat jerseys (which will be auctioned off at the end of the night) for their game against the St. George Roadrunners. The Outlaws will be donating a dollar from each ticket sold to the Boys and Girls Club.
There's no shortage of giveaways planned for the Outlaws 2007 season. A sampling of the highlights: magnet schedules Saturday, June 16 (sponsored by Fox 30 and "My 21" TV), logo baseballs Saturday, June 30 (courtesy of Chico Farm & Orchard), Friday, July 13 and Wednesday, August 8 (sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center), Outlaws baseball card team sets Saturday, July 14 (courtesy of Napa Valley's Ink House Bed & Breakfast), Outlaws straw hats Saturday, July 21 (courtesy of Feather Falls Casino) and Outlaws team posters Saturday, August 25 (sponsored by Fox 30 and "My 21" TV). The Outlaws are also providing a variety of money-saving theme nights. Every Tuesday home game will be designated Kid's Night, sponsored by North State Parent Magazine. All children 12 and under will be admitted for just a dollar when accompanied by a full paying adult (game day only); the first 500 youngsters will receive a special giveaway item, and kids will get to go on the field and run the bases after the game. Every Wednesday at Nettleton Stadium is "Wild West Wednesday," sponsored by KALF-FM Radio. Fans will enjoy refreshing beverage discounts on "Thirsty Thursday," sponsored by 103.5 FM The Blaze. And a Nettleton Stadium tradition continues with "Aloha Friday," where fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite tropical attire...in keeping with the theme night, the Outlaws players will be wearing special Hawaiian-style jerseys. A trip for two to Hawaii will be given away courtesy of Aloha Realty during the final Aloha Friday of the season on August 24.
Throughout the season, the Outlaws will be offering a two dollar per ticket discount for all fans 60 or older and free admission to children ages two and under.
