Wayne, N.J. - At the Capital One Ice Vault in Wayne New Jersey, the New Jersey Outlaws announced the signing of veteran defenseman Jim Jensen.

Jensen, a Maplewood, MN native, began his professional career in 2007-2008 with the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL and over four seasons played in 163 career games with stops at the Twin City Cyclones of the Southern Professional Hockey League, the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL, the Louisiana Ice Gators of the Southern Professional Hockey League and the last two season with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

"Jim is a big strong defenseman whose presence back on the blue line will have a big impact for us right out of the gate," said Outlaws' Team President Chris Firriolo. "He's been fortunate to be a part of some great programs going back to his junior hockey days to his collegiate career and in his professional career, that experience alone will help create a strong foundation within our defensive core."

Prior to arriving to the ECHL in 2007-2008, the 6-0 190lb defenseman began his junior hockey career with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL where he spent two season before heading to Ferris State University of the CCHA in 2003-2004. Jensen left Ferris State after his freshman year and headed back to the USHL where he spent one more season with Waterloo racking up a total of 319 penalty minutes over three seasons. The following season Jensen headed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth of the WCHA, this years NCAA Champions, before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin River Falls.
