
Outlaws Return Home and to Win Column

Williamsport Outlaws News Release
WILLIAMSPORT, PA - A day after the Williamsport Outlaws fell to their rival Danbury Whalers after jumping out to an early 1-0 first period lead, they were able to use a 2-0 first period lead to propel themselves to a win over the Danbury Whalers.
The Outlaws got on the board early in the first when Martin Moucha beat Nick Niedert at the 1:02 mark. The assists were credited to Chris Leveille and Kevin Hammel. The Outlaws were able to best Niedert one more time in the period when Anthony Battaglia beat the tender at the 19:28 mark from Trevor Karsiewicz and Jeff Winchester. The Outlaws entered the first intermission leading 2-0.
The Whalers made it interesting with back-to-back goals to tie it at 2-2. The first goal coming on the power play when Kamil Vavra beat Mike DiLorenzo at the 2:04 mark of the period with the assist coming from Gentry Zollars. The tying goal came off the stick of Max Mobley, unassisted, at the 14:52 mark.
Jeff Winchester was able to put the Outlaws back on top with his goal from Martin Moucha at the 17:57 mark. The Outlaws took the 3-2 lead into the second intermission.
The Outlaws were able to add an Anthony Battaglia empty net goal late in the third period to finish off a 4-2 win over the Danbury Whalers at Airmen Pond at Historic Bowman Field.
Mike DiLorenzo picked up the win for the Outlaws between the pipes making 37 saves on 39 shots faced.
Nick Niedert was handed the loss for the Whalers after allowing three goals on 37 shots faced.
