Williamsport Outlaws News Release
WILLIAMSPORT, PA - - The Williamsport Outlaws found themselves facing a different opponent than the schedule said, but they came away with the result they were looking for, a 4-3 victory over the Dayton Demonz.
The Outlaws started slow in the first period, but a short-handed goal by Chris LeVeille at the 11:30 mark of the first period set the tone. The goal was LeVeille's 8th of the season and was assisted by Kevin Hamel and Jeff Winchester.
Winchester would add his 6th goal of the season later on in the period, at the 18:28 mark from Matt Smyth and Trevor Karasiewicz to give the Outlaws a 2-0 lead entering the first intermission.
Dayton would strike first in the second period on the powerplay, as Lucas Schott found the twine behind Chris Whitley at the 4:07 mark to make it 2-1.
Rob Sich, who entered tonight's game with a lead leading 16 goals, scored his 17th of the season at the 17:20 mark of the period from Hamel and Brett Needham. Sich now leads Dayton's Brayden Metz and Ahmed Mafouz by four goals for the league lead.
Williamsport entered the third period with a 3-1 lead over the Demonz, but quickly added to their goal total when Smyth scored his 13th goal of the season at the 3:59 mark, the goal came unassisted.
Dayton would add two more goals from Luke Flicek, one shorthanded and the second with an extra attacker, but the Outlaws would withstand a late Demonz attack to pick up the 4-3 victory.
