North Iowa Outlaws News Release

Mason City, IA, Jan. 16,2008- Leading a healthy lifestyle, the importance of education, and the excitement of junior league hockey are just a few of the subjects the North Iowa Outlaws will talk about in their upcoming visits to local elementary classes. The Outlaws believe that giving back to the community starts within the schools and has a positive impact on the kids. They have planned numerous visits to more than half a dozen elementary schools in the North Iowa area in the months of January and February.

The Outlaws plan to visit classes ranging from pre-K through 5th grade informing them about hockey and the importance of exercise, healthy habits, reading and education. At some schools they will also be teaching and playing floor hockey during gym class to promote exercise at a young age.

The Outlaws will also be kicking off one local elementary school's Read-A-Thon by reading to the classes and stressing the importance of reading at all ages. Visits, which started two weeks ago, will continue for another few weeks, with the team going to two or three schools a week.

The North Iowa Outlaws are members of the North American Hockey League. They are based in Mason City, IA at the North Iowa Ice Arena. For more information on how your school can "Meet the Outlaws" contact Jim Stephens at 641-903-9336 or NIOutlawsRadio@aol.com.
