Outlaws Finalize Trades
May 15, 2002 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
San Angelo Saints News Release
The San Angelo Outlaws of the Central Hockey League announced today that they have finalized three trades from this past season. The Outlaws acquire the rights of Brian Shantz from the Tulsa Oilers to complete a trade that saw Brad Cooks rights go to Tulsa and the Adam Carter and player to be named later to the outlaws at the beginning of the 2001-2002 season. The Outlaws also acquired the rights to rookie defenseman Matt Cunningham to complete a trade that saw goalie Al Rooney go to the Amarillo Rattlers for a future consideration during the middle of the season. The final trade of the day saw Outlaws forward Tyler Quiring's rights head out of state to the New Mexico Scorpions to complete the trade that saw Jonathan Bishop become an Outlaw this last year.
Although the Outlaws have acquired the rights to Brian Shantz and Matt Cunningham, they have not currently signed with the team. "Both players are an option", said Outlaws Head Coach Brent Scott. "Right now we are always looking for new talent and although I am disappointed to Tyler go to New Mexico I feel we came out of these deals on the winning side."
