Outlaws Head Coach Takes the Reigns for the Outlaws Future

San Angelo – The San Angelo Outlaws of the Central Hockey League are proud and please to announce that they have resigned current Outlaws Head Coach, Brent Scott, to a multi-year contract extension. Scott, who was an assistant under Ed Johnstone at the beginning of the 2001-2002 season became the Outlaws head coach midway through December and has coached the Outlaws to an 18-18-4 record since his taking over of the reigns. "We are excited to have Brent back with us for future years to come," said Outlaws President Dick Moore. "He has shown to be what we were looking for in a coach and the players respect him greatly!" Among a few of the players that Scott brought in after becoming head coach were Jeff Cheeseman, who scored a hat trick in his first game as an Outlaw, and Chris Peach, the Outlaws current leading scorer. "I am glad to be able to come back to San Angelo," said an excited Scott during the press conference today. "Everyone has made me feel like I was at home and I love being able to give back to the community by bringing great entertainment to the fans of San Angelo!"

The Outlaws have two remaining games this season and both are scheduled at the Hideout! Tonight they will host their conference rivals the Odessa Jackalopes at 7 PM. Tomorrow, in the season finale, they play against the Austin Ice Bats at 5 PM. There will be a tailgate party sponsored by Fiddlestrings Sports Bar starting at 3 PM. Jumping Jack the professional mascot will be entertaining the crowd during both games and there are still plenty of good seats available. You can get tickets for the games this weekend by calling the Office at 949-7825 or the Coliseum box office at 658-9262.
