Oneonta Outlaws News Release

The Oneonta Outlaws picked up their sixth victory of the year with an 8-4 win over Glens Falls at Damaschke Field on Monday evening. The Outlaws used a broad range of offensive tools to collect the win over the Golden Eagles who had defeated Oneonta in the previous two match ups.

The Outlaws starting pitcher David Sosebee gave Oneonta seven solid innings allowing fou runs, two unearned, off five hits, with Oneonta's defense committing three errors at critical times. Sosebee gave up two walks and collected three strike outs in picking up the win, with Matt Schmitt throwing two innings of relief in a non-save situation.

Oneonta's offense evenly spread twelve hits throughout the lineup, picking up eight runs, seven earned. Seven different Outlaws scored runs with eight starters each having at least one hit. Clay Holcomb picked up another stolen base, his eighth without being caught. For the Outlaws, Omar Garcia, Logan Brown, Zach Lucas and Heath Holder each had two hits.

Starting pitcher for Glens Falls, Tony Urban, lasted two and 2/3s innings before being pulled due to injury. Urban allowed two hits, gave up two walks and two hit batsmen, allowing one run before Taylor Saucedo came in relief. Saucedo lasted just over two and 1/3, allowing six earned runs off of seven hits. The Golden Eagles used four pitchers with Saucedo picking up the loss.

The Outlaws maintain their hold on second place in the Perfect Game League and will travel to Cooperstown on Tuesday for a game against the Hawkeyes at Doubleday Field with a 5:00pm start. Their next home game is Friday against Mohawk Valley.
