Outlaws Announce Teacher Appreciation Contest

Mason City (IA) The North Iowa Outlaws are proud to announce the start of their 2009 Teacher Appreciation contest which will give area students the opportunity to honor their favorite teachers in the region. Nominations are available for pick-up at any Outlaws' home game through February 13th and must be returned to the team's offices inside the North Iowa Ice Arena by March 7th for the teacher to be considered.
From the list of nominations, the Outlaws will welcome up to 10 different teachers to the team's March 13th home game, where each will receive a certificate of appreciation.
"This promotion was a huge success when I did this is Fargo and other markets and I'm positive it will go over even better around here" said team spokesperson Scott Montesano. "I have many members of my family who are teachers and it's a job that doesn't come with all that many pats on the back or opportunity to win awards so presenting this contest has special meaning."
Anyone can fill out an entry form and teachers can be from any school in the region, or even from non-academic classes in the area. As long as the person in question is a teacher, they are eligible.
The Outlaws are in action this Friday and Saturday at home against the Springfield Jr. Blues at 7:30pm both nights.
The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
