Chico Outlaws News Release
The Chico Outlaws have announced their 2009 season will be broadcast on the internet at www.chicooutlaws.com. Joe Rauschenberger (Rau-shen-ber-ger) joins the Outlaws in the broadcast booth this summer for his first season with the team.
Rauschenberger, a Missouri native, has broadcast baseball, hockey, and women?s basketball at the collegiate level the past three years. He also worked for the Golden Baseball League during the 2009 Arizona Winter League as Web site director and official statistician.
?I?m very excited to come to Chico and begin working with the organization?, Rauschenberger said. ?I know how well the community supports the Outlaws, and baseball is my true passion. I?m sure that will show in how we present the broadcast.?
Rauschenberger will hit the road and broadcast every pitch of 72 of the 88 Outlaw games this season. The 16 international dates on the schedule will tentatively be available via archive. Fans will also be able to enjoy an in-house FM signal that will carry the broadcasts at ?The Nett?. Rauschenberger will also be filing game stories, writing a ?Booth Blog?, and fostering fan interaction with the broadcast.
?It?s going to be great,? Rauschenberger says. ?I?ve been waiting my whole life to be in the booth for a professional baseball team. Opening Night can?t come soon enough.?
The Outlaws home-opener will be Monday, May 25th against the Orange County Flyers at 7:05p.m. Get your tickets to celebrate the Outlaws fifth anniversary season. Stop by the downtown office at 308 Salem, place a call to 345-3210, or go to chicooutlaws.com to reserve your seats.
