Plymouth, Mich. - Ryan Hartman's hat trick goal in overtime gave the Plymouth Whalers a 4-3 win over the Erie Otters Saturday night.

Connor Brown put the Otters on the board 11:35 into the game as he banged in a great pass from Connor McDavid in front of the Plymouth crease for his 24th goal of the season. Hartman scored just over three minutes later to tie the game for the Whalers.

Connor McDavid put the Otters back in front at 17:01 of the first on a great play. McDavid was alone on goaltender Matt Mahalak and was able to slip the puck under the right pad with a second effort for his 19th goal of the season.

Jimmy McDowell made it a two-goal lead for Erie with 1:04 left in the first as he drilled a shot from the slot for his ninth goal of the season.

The Whalers pulled to within one late in the second on Hartman's second goal of the game. Cody Payne tied the game at three early in the third period.
