Otters Come Back to Earn Point in Shootout Loss

Erie, Pa. - The Erie Otters came back from a three-goal deficit to force overtime, but the Belleville Bulls were perfect in the shootout as they took a 4-3 decision on Thanksgiving.

The Bulls scored the first three goals of the game, as Brendan Gaunce scored 23 seconds into the game and Aaron Berisha scored twice in the second period to make it 3-0, Bulls.

The Otters got on the board 8:15 into the second as Connor Crisp banged in a rebound from an Adam Pelech shot for his eighth goal of the season.

Luke Cairns put the Otters within a goal at 15:01 of the second as he fired a shot from the left circle that bounced off the blocker hand of Malcolm Subban and into the net.

Connor McDavid had a chance to tie the game late in the second as he broke through for a breakaway, only to be denied by the blocker of Subban.

Travis Wood tied the game with 7:53 remaining in regulation as he blasted a shot from just outside the Belleville blue line that went through the blocker of Subban for his second goal of the season.

The Bulls won in the shootout as all three of their shooters were able to score, with Berisha netting the game-winner. The Otters outshot the Bulls, 35-31.
