
Osprey win marathon to extend Rockies' slide

The Casper Rockies continued to struggle against Missoula, losing their fifth straight to the Osprey 12-10 in 11 innings Thursday night. In a game that lasted over four and a half hours, Missoula out hit Casper 20 to nine. The win for Missoula is their sixth in a row.
Casper had some highlights, including Chris Cook's 10th homer of the year, an inside-the-park shot in the 2nd. The Rockies also got a long ball from Jesse Brownell, his 2nd home run of the year. Cole Garner had three of Casper's nine hits as well. Byron Binda suffered the loss for the Rockies while Eddie Baeza won for the Osprey, working four solid innings in relief. Dan Pohlman got his 10th save of the year for Missoula, with three against Casper in the last week.
With the loss, combined with Ogden's rainout, are now ½ games behind the Raptors. Idaho Falls and Orem each won Thursday, picking up a game on Casper in the wild card standings. The Owlz now sit two games out and the Chukars are four back.
Casper looks to snap their season worst five game losing streak with a 7:05 start on Friday. Lefty Brandon Durden works for Casper against fellow southpaw Greg Smith of Missoula.
