St. Paul Saints News Release

The Saints first homestand following the All-Star break is a four-game series with the first place Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants beginning Wednesday, July 28 with the Pheasants for Dinner promotion. The Saints announced the promotion following the Sioux Falls mascot change from Carnaries to Fighting Pheasants. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Saints Elmer Fudd-style hunting cap. During the night, select fans will participate in a pheasant-eating contest. Wear your favorite blaze orange hunting outfit and come ready to show the team from South Dakota how to truly hunt pheasant. Male pheasants are known for their bright colors, wattles and long tails. On this night, however, they will be known for sustenance as the Saints look to carve them up on the diamond.

Your name doesn't have to be O'Sullivan, McLoughlin or Fitzgerald to enjoy Irish Night on Thursday, July 29 presented by Leinenkugel's, or should we say, O'Leinenkugel's and Ahern's Irish Pub. Fans will partake in a game of "Find the Lucky Charms" and have the pleasure of listening to "World's Worst Irish Tenor." The Saints will wear special green jerseys adding "O'" before each player's last name. The jersey tops will be auctioned off during the game.

If celebrations aren't your forte, just wait a day and join the Saints on Friday, July 30 for Game of the Living Dead with a nod to zombies. Apply some white or gray make-up to your face, put a little fake blood around your mouth and parts of your clothes, practice your best slow, stiff walk and voila! - a zombie you shall become. If you don't want to dress like a zombie, be aware because one bite will turn you into one of the undead.

The final game of the homestand on Saturday, July 31 is Dancing with the Mascots presented by HealthPartners and Regions Hospital. Fans and mascots alike will test their skills to discover who will come closest to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers or, more appropriately, Emmit Smith and Kate Gosselin. Three teams will partake in four between-inning break dance offs to claim the title of dancing champions. Saints mascot Mudonna will team up with HealthPartners mascot Petey P. Cup for the first team. The second team will feature a HealthPartners mascot Pearl E. White and Regions mascot Reeg. The final team will be HealthPartners mascot Pokey teaming up with one lucky fan. Fans entering the ballpark that night will receive a Petey P. Cup hand puppet courtesy of HealthPartners.

All four games of the homestand begin at 7:05 p.m. and tickets can be purchased by contacting the Saints box office at 651-644-6659 or visiting saintsbaseball.com.
