O's place Bergesen on DL; Ray and Mickolio added to roster

The Orioles today announced that they have placed RHP BRAD BERGESEN on the 15-day disabled list with a left leg contusion. The club has also recalled RHP KAM MICKOLIO from Triple-A Norfolk and returned RHP CHRIS RAY from his rehabilitation assignment at Double-A Bowie to fill the club's 25-man roster.
Mickolio, 25, did not allow a run in three games spanning 3.2 innings in a stint with the Orioles earlier this month. He is 2-3 with a 3.35 ERA (37.2IP, 14ER) in 30 games for the Tides this year.
Ray, 27, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 6 with right biceps tendinitis. He pitched three scoreless innings in a three-game rehabilitation assignment with the Baysox and is 0-1 with a 9.28 ERA (21.1IP, 22ER) in 23 games with the Orioles in two stints with the club this year.
Bergesen, 23, is 7-5 with a 3.43 ERA (123.1IP, 47ER) in 19 starts for the Orioles this season. He was struck in the left leg by a line drive hit by Kansas City's BILLY BUTLER in the 7th inning of yesterday's game at Camden Yards. Bergesen picked up the win in the outing, becoming only the third Orioles rookie pitcher to start the season with a 7-1 record or better at home (courtesy Elias Sports Bureau).
