Estrada Knocks Go-Ahead Run in Series Opening Win

NORFOLK, Va - The Norfolk Tides (28-38 | 56-85) defeated the Charlotte Knights (36-33 | 78-66), 4-2, on Tuesday night at Harbor Park. The Tides took the series opener in a pitcher's duel.

Cox High School graduate Ethan Anderson made his Triple-A debut, going 2-for-4 with two runs and a double. He scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Aron Estrada, his first career Triple-A hit. He also made his Triple-A debut, finishing 1-for-3 with the RBI and a walk.

Trace Bright made the start for the Tides, and tossed scoreless innings for the first five innings. He allowed the first three runners to reach in the first inning, with one scoring, and exited with the 2-1 lead. Norfolk could not hold the second from scoring, with Charlotte tying the game. Gerald Ogando would earn the win, with Félix Bautista getting the hold on a scoreless inning, and Ryan Long earning the two-inning save.
