TAMPA BAY-ORLANDO, PART II: Two teams trying to recover from losing last week meet this Saturday as the Tampa Bay Terminators and the Orlando Starz meet again Saturday night. Tampa Bay fell 25-6 to the Atlanta Xplosion and the Starz 30-6 at the Miami Fury last week.

RECAPPING PART ONE THANS TO CUT AND PASTE: In front of a crowd twenty times larger than Martha Burk's protest at Augusta [Forgive Us. We're trying to be topical], the Starz dropped their season opener to Tampa Bay at Jones High School.

Sheylia Rutland rushed for 128 yards and scored the game's only touchdown on an 18-yard third quarter run as Tampa Bay took control in the second half. Ella Coffee added a fourth-quarter safety as the Terminators dealt the Starz their first-ever shutout. Orlando controlled the first half, holding the ball for over 20 minutes and driving inside the Tampa Bay red zone. Ayesha Jones had a solid start, rushing for 57 yards while Laurie Aversano and Etta Wright had great games on defense, making nine and eight tackles

RECAPPING OUR TRIP TO MIAMI: South Beach rocks...oh the game. The Starz lost 30-6 to a good Miami Fury team that denied Orlando on two trips inside the Fury red zone. THE GOOD: The Starz got on the scoreboard for the first time this season on a first-quarter pass from Kahs Sky-Deer to Ayesha Jones that cut it to an 8-6 game. Sky Deer had 151 yards, her best of the season ... Kellie Corbin had a breakout game with three catches for 59 yards ... did we mention how much fun South Beach is? .... THE BAD: Negative rushing for the second straight game and the close but yet so far feeling with two red zone drives ended in INTS and one TD called backed... Coverage breakdown led to Miami's first TD pass ... Cal! ls didn't go Orlando way, especially on one INT that was ruled out of bounds, but that's to be expected on the road ... THE UGLY: Losing two weeks in a row by a combined score of 69-6, but did we mention how awesome South Beach is?

MEET COACH MIKE: The Starz' new Head Coach is Mike Vessio. He's a native of the Bronx, New York, was a standout performer at Mahopac High School, where he earned all Conference and All District awards. He is employed at Tees and Cues in Maitland as the General Manager

WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT, THE DETROIT TIGERS HAVEN'T BEEN MATHEMATICALLY ELIMINATED YET EITHER: Okay, the Starz are 0-3, but are still mathematically alive to win the Independent Women's Football League's South Atlantic Division. Orlando has two more meeting each with Tampa Bay and Miami that will determine the Division title. Miami is currently 2-0, Tampa 1-1 and Orlando 0-2. Games with the Atlanta Xplosion, an exhibition team, do not count for playoff seeding.

YOU KNOW, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IN THE IRAQI INFORMATION DEPARTMENT GIG: We've been outscored 77-6 but all is not lost: The Albany Night-Mares are still looking for their first points after two games; the Detroit Blaze, who we are really looking forward to playing next month, have been outscored 137-0 and the San Diego Seacatz have been topped 124-0 in two games, including an 81-0 loss to Sacramento last week.

BIGGER THAN THE CITY IN NORTH CAROLINA: Well, not literally, but the worldwide media attention towards our gridiron granny Charlotte Chambers continues to grow. Two different Japanese television stations will be at the game to profile Miss Charlotte and the Orlando STARZ.

Miss Charlotte has received requests for interviews from Alaska to California, including David Letterman to Jimmy Kimmel Live. "We have been overwhelmed with all of the attention, but we are not complaining, said Starz CEO Masrha Beatty. "I suppose any team would love to have this kind of exposure, we sure do".
