Orlando Predators Look for First Win Against Chicago Rush
March 21, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Orlando Predators News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Predators will travel to their first road game of the season against the Chicago Rush on Thursday, March 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
Coming off the home opening loss to the Pittsburgh Power, the Preds are hoping to pull out a win against the Rush with the original roster back intact.
What to Watch for:
* Starting QB Collin Drafts was solid in his first start of the season versus the Power. Look for Drafts' numbers to improve this game with the majority of the Predators offense returning, two of his early targets likely being veteran receiver T.T. Toliver and second year receiver Dwayne Eley, Jr.
* On offense, watch for veteran WR T.T. Toliver to continue to be a deep threat for the Predators. Toliver is returning for his eighth AFL season. Toliver made 16 starts and finished the regular season with seven 100-yard receiving games last season. Toliver caught 121 passes for 1,525 yards and 32 touchdowns. Also, WR Dwayne Eley, Jr. hopes to contribute to the Preds offense in his second season in the AFL. Eley, Jr. played in 12 games and started in nine for Milwaukee Mustangs last season. Eley, Jr. caught 75 passes for 1,025 yards (13.7) and 20 TDs. He was named Offensive player of the game against Kansas City and Pittsburgh and finished with four 100-yard receiving games.
* On defense, look out for DL Terrance Carter. In his second season, Carter played last year for the Pittsburgh Power, playing in 18 games, with 17 starts. Carter finished with 26.5 tackles (21 solo) and led Power with 8.5 tackles-for-loss and five sacks. Also, 7-year veteran Marlon Moye-Moore hopes to make his leadership felt. Moye-Moore started in all 18 games at JLB in his seventh season with Preds and finished the regular season third on the team in tackles with 73 (62 solo). Moye-Moore made 2.5 tackles-for-loss and ranked No. 7 in the AFL with seven interceptions. Moye-Moore was credited with three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and recovered a fumble.
The Orlando Predators will hold an Official Watch Party for Thursday's game against the Chicago Rush on Thursday, March 22 at 8pm at Friendly Confines, 3088 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32792.
The game will stream live online via the Orlando Predator's Ustream site: www.ustream.com/orlandopredators.
