Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO - On Wednesday the Orlando Predators strengthened its defensive front by adding lineman Terrance Carter (6'4, 265, Colorado State) to the roster for the upcoming AFL season.
The Preds also recently signed rookie defensive back Anthony Barnes (6'2, 191, Norfolk State) and fullback/linebacker Michael Johnson (6'1, 255, North Alabama).
Carter enters his third season in the Arena Football League after spending 2010 with the Tulsa Talons and 2011 with the Pittsburgh Power.
"Terrance is a very good pass rusher and we're extremely excited about bringing him to Orlando," Preds coach Bret Munsey said. "He's going to help us out a lot on the defensive side of the ball."
Munsey had previously recruited Carter to play in Philadelphia following the 2008 season while head coach of the Soul.
Carter joins recent signees Richard Clebert and Mark Robinson as commitments along the defensive line for the 2012 season.
Barnes was in camp with the NFL's Washington Redskins this summer while Johnson spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carter made 17 starts and played in 18 games this past season, finishing with 26.5 tackles (21 solo). He led the Power with 8.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks while also being credited with seven quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick.
In 2010 while with the Talons, Carter tallied 17 tackles (12 solo), 9.5 sacks and 8 tackles for loss in just 11 games. He also played for the Talons in af2 from 2007-09.
Carter was a three-year starter on defense at Colorado State from 2003-2005.
