Tampa Bay Storm to Play in Charity Flag Football Game

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm are pleased to announce that the team will play the Tampa Bay Sentinels, a member of the National Public Safety League, in a charity flag football game Saturday, December 10 out at Skyway Park (3901 George Road, Tampa) at 1 PM. All the proceeds from the game will benefit the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation.

"This is a great way to have some fun and give back to the community," said vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch. "We are looking forward to getting out and have some fun with some our local heroes."

The Tampa Bay Sentinels is a football team comprised of first responders from throughout the Tampa Bay area, including military members stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. The team participates in the full contact National Public Safety League against teams throughout the country comprised of public safety officers.

The two teams played its first charity football game in the fall of 2011 at Tampa Catholic H.S. While the Storm came out on top everybody that day was a winner as the game was able to raise $1,500 dollars for the Kocab and Curtis Foundation in support of two fallen Tampa police officers and their families.

Tickets to the game are only $7.00 and can be purchased at the gate the day of the game. Children under five and people with disabilities get in for free. There will also be auction items and a 50/50 raffle with all the proceeds going to benefit the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation.
