Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO - July 24, 2014 - Orlando City Soccer Club (14-0-4, 46 points) look to get back to their winning ways on Sunday, July 27 when the Lions take on the Rochester Rhinos (7-7-6, 27 points) at Sahlen's Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
The match will be live-streamed via YouTube.com/RocRhinos.
City saw its club-record eight game winning streak come to an end last Thursday night after battling Sacramento Republic FC to a 0-0 draw on the road. Orlando's potent attack was unable to get on the score-sheet for the first time this season, but Miguel Gallardo and the OCSC defense earned its eighth clean-sheet of the year, propelling the Lions to its 18th game without a loss.
Rochester suffered a 1-0 defeat in its most recent match against the Wilmington Hammerheads over the weekend. Jordan Hamilton scored the deciding goal for Wilmington in the 77th minute when the striker was played in behind the Rhinos' defense. Hamilton's first attempt on target was denied, but the forward quickly collected the rebound for a comfortable tap-in.
Sunday's fixture marks the third encounter between Rochester and Orlando this season. City took three points in the first meeting with an emphatic 3-1 win but narrowly salvaged a draw in Rochester one month later, equalizing late in the second half.
Currently in fifth place in USL PRO, Rochester is fighting to stay in the playoff race as the end of the season draws near. In its previous five matches, the Rhinos have produced just one win, defeating FC Dallas Reserves 3-0 at home on June 11. As the league table presently stands, only six points separate Rochester and the Charlotte Eagles, who are sitting just outside the top 8 with 21 points.
