PORTLAND, Ore. (May 3, 2015) - Orange County Blues FC recovered a loss to Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Friday in impressive fashion, defeating Portland Timbers 2 2-0 Sunday night at Providence Park, just 48 hours later.

The Blues secured two first half goals and goalkeeper Pepe Miranda earned his third shutout of the season. The Blues opened up the scoreboard in the 27th minute of the match when midfielder Didier Crettenand took a shot from almost 30 yards outside the box that sailed into the left corner of the goal, clanging off the bottom of the crossbar and past the goal line. Denzel Slager gave Orange County the insurance goal when Seung Ju Kim sent a through ball to him. The Dutch winger finished into the lower left corner despite T2 goalkeeper Andrew Weber's attempt to save the ball.

Coming off their loss against Seattle Sounders FC 2, Orange County worked hard, pressuring the Timbers' goal with eight shots in the first half, compared to T2's zero. T2 looked to get a goal during first half stoppage time when Kharlton Belmar got close to an advancing ball, that goalkeeper Pepe Miranda was quick to grab before any damage could be done.

The second half of the match saw more action as each team inched closer to the defending team's goal. In the 50th minute, T2 midfielder Will Johnson took his chance on goal to try and get past the defenders in the box, but defender Beto Navarro cleared it out to keep the Blues ahead.

Orange County now sports a record of 4-2-0, with 12 pts, tied with Sacramento Republic FC for 2nd place in USL's Western Conference. The Blues now return to Orange County for two home matches against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (May 13, 2015) and Tulsa Roughnecks FC (May 16, 2015).
