West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - West Michigan Whitecaps Opening Day reserved seat tickets will be offered for a special $5 price for one day only. On Thursday, March 25, fans can take advantage of this special reduced price from the regular $9.50 price.

The $5 ticket sale for Opening Day, scheduled for Sunday, April 11 at 2 p.m. against Fort Wayne, is in response to the continued economic downturn, said Whitecaps Director of Ticket Sales Chad Sayen.

"The West Michigan economy has still not recovered and unemployment is still high," Sayen said. "This one-day sale is a way to draw the community together and provide a truly affordable entertainment option. While the Whitecaps are already one of the most affordable family entertainment options in the area, this deep discount on reserved seats will allow families that simply can't afford to splurge in this economy with a fun activity for a day. This is one way we can give back to our community."

Tickets will be available for purchase at the Whitecaps ticket office at Fifth Third Ballpark from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, online at www.whitecapsbaseball.com or by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131.

The first 1,000 fans on Opening Day will receive a Fifth Third Bank Snuggie-style fleece blanket. Opening Day is also Helen DeVos Family Day when the first 1,000 kids eat free, fans can get autographs and play catch on the field, and kids are invited to come down to the field after the game to run the bases.

Season, group tickets and individual tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131, coming to the Fifth Third Ballpark box office (open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com.
