(Joliet, IL) - The Joliet Slammers, presented by ATI Physical Therapy, announced Thursday their player tryouts will take place on Sunday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Silver Cross Field.

"We're excited to see if we can find some hidden gems," manager Mike Breyman said. "Our coaches will be in attendance and it should be a good time for everyone."

Interested players can register in advance, but registration will also take place the day of the tryout. It will cost $50 to participate and only cash will be accepted the day of the tryout. Players should arrive at 9:00 to sign up. It is a one day tryout with no make-up date in case of rain.

Any interested players must have been born after December 31, 1985 due to the Frontier League's age limit. In order to participate, players must have completed their college eligibility and be at least 20 years old. Players need to bring their own equipment, including helmets and wood bats.

Players who do not get signed or cannot make the Slammers' tryout will still have a chance to sign with a team at the Frontier League's tryout on Monday, April 29 and Tuesday, April 30 at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois.

Season tickets, loaded ticket packages and group outings for the 2013 season are available now by calling 815-722-2287.
