Portland Thunder News Release
PORTLAND, OR - Open Tryout Participants Brandon Tett (Univ. of Oregon), Brandon Lockheart (Oregon State Univ.), and Dustin Risseeuw (Western Oregon Univ.) have been invited to participate in February's training camp with the Portland Thunder.
"The city of Portland and the Northwest in general showed us a tremendous amount of talent at open tryouts," said Head Coach Matthew Sauk. "We feel like these three guys are the guys who are most ready to compete with the players we've already signed."
Nearly 200 players from throughout the country participated in the open tryout, held Dec. 19. Tett, Lockheart, and Risseeuw still have a difficult road ahead of them, as they hope to beat out other college stars and former NFL players for a position on the Thunder's roster.
The Portland Thunder will kick off its inaugural season at the Moda Center on Monday, March 17th when they take on the San Jose SaberCats. Season tickets are available for purchase starting as low as $99 by calling 503-773-4AFL or by visiting PortlandAFL.com.
