
Open Tryout for 2008 Storm Set for December 8

The Sioux Falls Storm and Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs would like to announce that the first open tryout for the 2008 team will take place on Saturday, December 8. The tryout will take place at Avera Sports Institute, located at 1601 W. 44th Place (just behind the ShopKo on 41st St.) in Sioux Falls. The tryout for kickers will start at 7:00 PM with all other positions starting at 7:30 PM.
Those wanting to tryout can pre-register by sending a $25 registration fee to the Storm office at 1901 S. Minnesota Ave. in Sioux Falls. Players can also register on December 8 starting at 7:00 PM at Avera Sports Institute. Registration is $40 on the day of the tryout and will only be accepted by cash or money order.
Players will be evaluated based on 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, vertical jump, agility, and various position specific drills. Those trying out are asked to wear shorts and t-shirt as no pads or helmets will be used during the auditions. Sweats and turf shoes are also required of all players trying out.
Players are encouraged to call the Storm office at 605-332-4225 for more information. Players needing hotel accommodations are also encouraged to call the Storm office for recommendations.
