Outlaws Holding Open Tryout January 12, 2008

Billings Outlaws News Release


Oct. 31, 2007 - The Billings Outlaws announced that they will be holding an open tryout on January 12, 2008. The tryout will be held at the Billings Outlaws SportsPlex, at 5000 Southgate Drive, Billings, MT 59102.

Registration begins at 8:00 am, with the tryout starting at 9:00 am and running until 1:00 pm. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and need to bring 1) a valid picture ID, 2) a current bio or game film, and 3) proper workout attire, including turf shoes. The workout will measure players' long jump, vertical, and their 40-yard dash and short shuttle times, as well as testing them in one-on-one drills.

The pre-registration fee is $25 and $40 on the day of the tryout, payable by cash or money order. Checks will not be accepted. Pre-registration must be completed online, at www.billingsoutlaws.com, or in person at the corporate offices at the SportsPlex.

The Hampton Inn is the host hotel for this event and is providing group rates for any tryout participants. Players can contact the Hampton Inn at (406) 248-4949 to reserve a room and arrange for shuttle pickup from the airport. By mentioning the tryout, players will receive a room discount.

The Billings Outlaws had a successful debut in the United Indoor Football league in 2007, earning a trip to the playoffs and the Western Conference Championship, where they fell to the eventual champion, Sioux Falls Storm. The Outlaws welcome back many of the same players and head coach Heron O'Neal to improve upon last season's success.
