New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The hockey community is often said to be one big family. The Scorpions today announced they will join TeamBorsheim.com with an online jersey auction.

"The Scorpions are part of the professional hockey community and we want to help in anyway we can," said Gary Gelinas, Scorpions President/General Manager. "The entire organization wishes Les and his family the best as he recovers."

TeamBorsheim.com was created to help Colorado Eagles player Les Borsheim who was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on June 1. The website was set up by and is managed by Tyler Fleck, former teammate of Borsheim and current captain of the Oklahoma City Blazers.

The site features updates on Les' condition, a place for the public to leave well-wishes, numerous ways to help financially (from pure donations to the purchasing of merchandise) and much more.

The Scorpions, through www.scorpionshockey.com will auction off two signed NHL jerseys. The first jersey is a blue Toronto Maple Leafs sweater signed by Dave Ellett. Ellett played 16 years in the NHL before retiring in 200. The second piece of memorabilia is a red Montreal Canadiens jersey signed by Brian Savage. Savage retired following the 2005-06 season after playing for 12 years in the NHL. Both Ellett and Savage are currently part of the Scorpions ownership group.

"As former players Brian and I wanted to help a player in need and hope this can aid in Les' road to recovery," said Ellett.

The auctions will take place exclusively online and end on July 31 at 5 p.m. MDT. The auction can be accessed on the Scorpions home page.
