
Omaha Vipers Sign Their First Players to Contract

(Omaha) - The Omaha Vipers MISL professional indoor soccer team today announced the signing of the first two players to two-year contracts with the team.
Carlos "Chile" Farias is a Chilean soccer forward who has spent almost his entire professional career in the United States. He has played in five indoor and outdoor leagues including the MLS. He most recently played with the LaRaZa of Monterrey, Mexico in the MILS. He was the CISL rookie of the year in 1996 and made First Team All Star Honors in 1999, 2001 and 2004. In last year's MISL championship game, he was named MVP.
Ryan Junge is a free agent defender and a native of Omaha who played for Creighton from 2004-2006. While there, he started in 79 of 83 games. He played then for the MLS Columbus Crew 2007-2009 after being drafted in the second round in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.
The Omaha Vipers are the MISL's newest franchise and will begin play in November 2010 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Season tickets are now on-sale at 402.932.3335 or on-line at www.omahavipers.com . The 12 game package can be purchased for $100 up to just over $200. A twenty-five dollar deposit will hold your tickets until November 1st.
The MISL represents the Major League of professional indoor soccer in the United States and Mexico and features the finest indoor soccer players from around the world. The league currently has seven member clubs for the 2010-11 season: the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Milwaukee Wave, Missouri Comets, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the newest MISL club in Omaha. The upcoming 2010-11 regular season will begin in mid-November and will end in late March. The postseason will begin and the end of March and conclude in the beginning of April.
